Connecta Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Connecta mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

1. About Connecta

Connecta is a social networking service designed to help women build meaningful friendships through compatibility-based matching.

The Service includes, among other things:

• user profiles;
• compatibility questionnaires;
• profile photos;
• friendship matching;
• messaging;
• Connect requests;
• Premium subscriptions;
• notifications; and
• other features that may be added or removed over time.

The Service is continuously evolving. We may modify, improve, suspend, replace, or discontinue any feature at any time without prior notice.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if:

• you are at least 18 years old;
• you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
• your use of the Service is permitted under applicable law; and
• you have not previously been suspended or prohibited from using the Service.

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when creating or updating your account.

You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their permission.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You are responsible for all activities that occur through your account.
You agree to notify Connecta immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

You may not:

• share your account with another person;
• sell, transfer, rent, or sublicense your account;
• impersonate another person;
• create fake identities;
• use misleading profile information; or
• attempt to circumvent restrictions imposed on your account.

We reserve the right to refuse registration, suspend access, or terminate accounts in accordance with these Terms.

4. Premium Subscriptions

Certain features of the Service are available only through a Premium subscription.
Premium subscriptions are currently offered through Google Play.
Subscription prices, available plans, billing periods, and features may change at any time.
Payments, renewals, cancellations, billing disputes, and refunds are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google's applicable terms and policies.

If your Premium subscription expires, Premium-only features may become unavailable immediately.

We do not guarantee that any Premium feature will remain available indefinitely.

5. User Content

You may upload or submit content through the Service, including but not limited to:

• profile information;
• profile photographs;
• questionnaire answers;
• interests;
• messages;
• comments;
• reports;
• and other content made available through the Service.

You are solely responsible for all content you submit.

You represent and warrant that:

• you own your content or have permission to use it;
• your content does not violate any law;
• your content does not infringe any intellectual property rights;
• your content does not violate another person's privacy;
• your content is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You may not upload content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, sexually exploitative, abusive, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate.

6. License You Grant to Connecta

You retain ownership of the content you upload.

However, by submitting content through the Service, you grant Connecta a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to:

• host;
• store;
• reproduce;
• process;
• display;
• distribute within the Service;
• transmit;
• modify where technically necessary (such as resizing profile photos);
• and otherwise use your content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, improving, securing, and providing the Service.

This license ends when your content is permanently deleted from our systems, except where retention is required by law or where copies remain in backups for a reasonable period.

7. Community Standards

Connecta is intended to provide a respectful and safe environment.

You agree not to:

• harass or intimidate other users;
• stalk another person;
• threaten violence;
• engage in bullying;
• send spam;
• impersonate another individual;
• create fake profiles;
• upload misleading information;
• attempt to scam users;
• distribute malware or malicious code;
• promote illegal activities;
• encourage self-harm or violence;
• exploit or endanger minors;
• violate another person's privacy;
• upload content that infringes intellectual property rights;
• interfere with the normal operation of the Service.

Users may report inappropriate behavior using the reporting tools available within the Service.
Connecta may investigate reports and take any action it considers appropriate.

8. Messaging and User Interactions

The Service allows users to communicate with one another through messaging and other social interaction features.
You are solely responsible for the content of any messages or communications you send through the Service.
Connecta does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-generated communications.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline.
We encourage users to exercise appropriate caution when interacting with people they meet through the Service.
Any meetings or interactions outside the Service are entirely at your own risk.

9. Blocking and Reporting

The Service provides tools that allow users to report inappropriate behavior and block other users.

If you block another user:

• communication between you may be restricted or disabled;
• pending social interactions may be removed;
• other features involving that user may become unavailable.

Reports submitted through the Service may be reviewed to investigate violations of these Terms, protect users, comply with legal obligations, or improve the safety of the Service.
Submitting knowingly false or malicious reports may itself constitute a violation of these Terms.

10. Child Safety

Connecta is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 years and older.

The Service has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, trafficking, or any content involving minors that violates applicable law.

Users may not:

• upload, distribute, or request child sexual abuse material;
• exploit or endanger minors;
• attempt to contact minors through the Service;
• encourage illegal or exploitative conduct involving children.

Users may report child safety concerns using the reporting tools available within the Service.
Connecta reserves the right to immediately remove content, suspend accounts, cooperate with law enforcement, and take any other action deemed necessary to protect children and comply with applicable laws.

11. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• violate any law or regulation;
• infringe another person's rights;
• harass, threaten, abuse, or intimidate others;
• distribute spam or unsolicited communications;
• create fake accounts;
• impersonate another person;
• misrepresent your identity;
• collect personal information about other users without authorization;
• interfere with the operation of the Service;
• attempt unauthorized access to any system;
• introduce malware, viruses, bots, or harmful software;
• overload, disrupt, or degrade the Service;
• bypass security measures;
• scrape, crawl, or systematically collect data from the Service;
• use automated scripts, bots, or other automation tools unless expressly authorized by Connecta;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service;
• exploit bugs or vulnerabilities;
• interfere with another user's enjoyment of the Service.

Any violation of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

12. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content, all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service are owned by Connecta or its licensors.

This includes, without limitation:

• software;
• application design;
• matching algorithms;
• graphics;
• logos;
• trademarks;
• text;
• databases;
• visual elements;
• source code;
• object code;
• user interface;
• documentation.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, license, reproduce, publicly display, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by law or by Connecta.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

Connecta reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to suspend, restrict, disable, or permanently terminate any account if we reasonably believe that:

• these Terms have been violated;
• the user has engaged in abusive behavior;
• fraudulent or deceptive activity has occurred;
• the account poses a security risk;
• the account is used for spam or automation;
• the account threatens the safety of other users;
• the account is used for unlawful purposes;
• termination is necessary to protect the Service, its users, or Connecta.

We may also remove or restrict access to any User Content that we believe violates these Terms or applicable law.

Termination may occur with or without prior notice.
Nothing in these Terms obligates Connecta to maintain any account indefinitely.

14. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your account using the functionality provided within the Service.
When your account is deleted:

• your account credentials will be deleted;
• your profile information will be removed;
• your uploaded profile photographs will be deleted;
• your questionnaire responses will be deleted;
• your Connect requests will be removed;
• your push notification tokens will be deleted;
• your subscription entitlement records may be removed.

Certain information may remain after account deletion where necessary to:

• maintain the integrity of conversations;
• comply with legal obligations;
• resolve disputes;
• enforce these Terms;
• protect the security of the Service.

For example, messages previously sent within conversations may remain available to preserve conversation history, although further interaction with a deleted account may no longer be possible.

Deletion of an account does not automatically remove information retained in backups for a limited period or information that must be retained under applicable law.

15. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

16. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party providers, including Google Play, Google Sign-In, Firebase, Supabase, and other technologies necessary to operate the Service.

Connecta is not responsible for the availability, security, or policies of third-party services.

17. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Connecta disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• you will find compatible friends;
• other users will respond to your messages;
• information provided by users is accurate;
• the Service will always be available or error-free.

Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Connecta, its owner, and its service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

This includes, without limitation, loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, emotional distress, user conduct, or interactions between users, whether online or offline.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

19. Changes to the Service

We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

We also reserve the right to introduce new features, modify existing functionality, or remove features entirely.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The updated version will become effective upon publication within the Service or on our website.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
